Prof. Mohamed Mohamoud Jamaa "Derie", praised the status and standing of Amoud University in the society today arguing that it is public knowledge what Amoud University has achieved and continues to achieve in the higher education sector and in community service under stewardship of Prof. Suleiman A. Gulaid. He averred that those who negatively criticize the university are either academically challenged or have found the high standards set for hiring or maintenance of teaching staff at the university too high a bar for them to match up, therefore resorting to negativity and thus should be dismissed. He maintained firmly that Amoud University was on course to achieving many firsts just as it has done by being first university in Somaliland, with its first home grown Masters programmes, the PhD achieved by Dr. Mohamed and many other innumerable success stories.
